New WhatsApp Feature: Use Your Account on Multiple Devices!

WhatsApp, a messaging application owned by Meta, has introduced a new feature that allows users to use their WhatsApp account on up to four devices simultaneously. This new feature enables users to link each device with WhatsApp independently and ensures end-to-end encryption of messages, media, and calls.

In case the primary device remains inactive for a long period, all companion devices linked to the user's WhatsApp account will automatically log out. WhatsApp suggests that linking phones as companion devices will make messaging more convenient for users, enabling them to switch between devices without logging out and allowing them to resume chats from where they left off.

This feature will facilitate small business owners, and employees of businesses will now be able to reply to customers through the same WhatsApp business account. WhatsApp has announced an alternative process to link companion devices, which is more accessible. This feature has been rolled out globally and will be available to all users in the coming weeks.

Instead of scanning a QR code, WhatsApp Web allows users to input their phone numbers to receive a one-time code. This code can then be used on their phone to activate device linking. This new feature by the Meta-owned platform comes at a time when it is trying to increase its efforts to protect its users' privacy. Recently, WhatsApp allowed its users to post their WhatsApp status to their Facebook Stories automatically by enabling the feature.

Earlier this year, WhatsApp added a privacy audience selector for Status updates, allowing users to specify who can view their status updates. With this latest update, users can now enjoy more flexibility in using their WhatsApp account on multiple devices.
